Tools for Moving from Surviving to Thriving: For Male Survivors
Sunday, December 8, 2019, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm$75.00
Too often men who have been abused feel disconnected from themselves and from those around them. Gender expectations can interfere with men seeking help and receiving the support they deserve. This workshop will provide education about sexual and physical abuse and how current behaviors are often linked to past abuse.
Participants will learn how to reframe current symptoms and behaviors as real attempts to cope with past trauma, and will be able to identify and cultivate healthy coping skills.
In a safe environment, participants can address the feelings of shame, isolation and stigmatization which are sometimes amplified for males coping with the impact of abuse.
- Light refreshments will be available
- Pre-registration is required
