Therapy Options

Through therapy, peoples’ stories unfold, allowing them to create new meanings, connections, capacities and pathways forward.

We recognize that each person’s story and struggle is unique.   Our therapists offer respect, presence, compassion and mutuality.

At Womencare, we specialize in working with survivors of trauma and abuse, and practice therapy from a relational and feminist framework.  This means we work collaboratively, taking into account the intersections of culture, family of origin, relationships, and one’s own sense of safety and identity.   We take a stance against abuse and all forms of oppression.  We strive to co-create a space where all individuals can gain insight, understanding, growth and connection.

While we are all trained in the treatment of trauma, each of our therapists also brings a unique set of skills, specialties, and clinical orientations.  These may include family systems, attachment-based, psychodynamic, cognitive, dialectical, and mind-body approaches.

Our therapists offer individual, couples, relationship, child/adolescent, family and group counseling.  Areas of specialty include:

  • Relational Trauma
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Identity Issues
  • Relationship Difficulties
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Complex PTSD
  • LGBTQ+
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Body Image and Esteem Issues

The therapy process is not always easy.  It requires commitment from both the client and the therapist.
