For nearly four decades, Womencare Counseling & Training Center has been a leader in the field of trauma therapy. We offer workshops, training, and consultation programs to resource and empower mental health professionals, as well as members of the community we serve.  We also provide a wide range of therapeutic services in a variety of settings:  individual, group, family, and couples counseling.

Program Coordinator

We are currently seeking a part-time Program Coordinator for our Training Center.  The program coordinator is key to the implementation of our vision. Our training center reflects our investment in the welfare, growth and development of trauma clinicians. We provide training and consultation to community and non-profit organizations as well as individual therapists.  In order to increase accessibility and safety we provide both virtual and in-person training.  We also offer workshops and seminars to community members. We are proud of our reputation as leaders in the field of trauma.

The program coordinator promotes and manages our workshops, professional training programs, trauma consultation program and educational events.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to: collaborating with staff to plan yearly training calendar; coordinating and producing training materials; securing venues when needed; updating website text and design; creating and generating PR materials and developing marketing strategies; processing registrations, invoices and payments for training programs; administering CEU’s for workshops and training events. We welcome candidates who are creative, possess initiative, and are interested in being part of a strong, collaborative work community.

Required Qualifications: Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills, strong project management skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, comfort with troubleshooting and problem-solving, ability to create basic promotional materials, and willingness to work collaboratively. Strong computer literacy, with desired proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Constant Contact, WordPress, Zoom and the utilization of social media to promote programs. 

Hours: 20 hours/ week.

Compensation: $28,000 – $32,000 annual salary based on experience and skills.

Staff Therapist

We are looking for clinicians who are passionate about the work they do and the people they serve.  The ideal candidate has experience in treating trauma, offers diversity to our staff, values communication, integrity and authenticity, and can work both independently and collaboratively within the group.  We encourage applicants who have or have an interest in developing a specialized clinical focus.

While Womencare is a private practice and not an agency, all therapists participate in the community of Womencare by attending staff meetings and group supervision, participating on committees, collaborating on cases, and also have the opportunity to consult and mentor.  We believe in a relational approach, both in our work with clients and in our collegial relationships with one another.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Four years post-graduate psychotherapy experience with individuals; adult psychotherapy experience is required
  • Clinically licensed (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PhD, PsyD) for practice in Illinois
  • Therapeutic experience with PTSD and relational trauma
  • A feminist-relational model for providing therapy
  • Four years post-graduate psychotherapy experience with individuals; adult psychotherapy experience is required
  • Clinically licensed (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PhD, PsyD) for practice in Illinois
  • Demonstrated competency in individual therapy and interest in one or more additional therapeutic modalities (relationship, family, group)
  • Strong clinical aptitude, ability to self-reflect, and interest in being part of a community of therapists
  • Required attendance at weekly Wednesday consultation groups and monthly staff meeting
  • Commitment to their own continued professional growth and development
  • Demonstrate a commitment to social justice
  • Desire to invest in Womencare’s commitment to antiracism within our organization and the community

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with providing long-term psychotherapy
  • Therapeutic experience with complex trauma
  • Preference given to candidates with experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, groups and/or couples
  • Interest in providing workshops and/or trainings
  • Additional clinical experience in areas such as depression and anxiety, sexuality and sexual identity, dissociation, grief and loss, eating disorders, addiction, disability and other special needs

Hours: Minimum of 15 hours/ week (working up to 12 clients hours/week)
